A New Life, A New Beginning

,

Life is full of surprises. A few years back, I did not expect to find a man that I would spend the rest of my life with. I was not entirely happy about living in Malaysia and I wanted to move somewhere else. Then, out of the sudden, he came to my life and I began to understand why I was “stuck” in KL in the first place. Perhaps, it’s a destiny, God’s calling, or whatever you want to callRead more

Malaysia: One Year On

, , ,

It was only a year and five months ago when I first stepped my foot in KL, with nothing but my luggage, a tourist visa, and the hope of getting a job. After only a month, I landed myself a job in a middle-sized IT company and tried my best to build my life here from scratch. At that moment in time, my journey in Malaysia had – more or less — started. I have to admit though — itRead more

Culture Shock: Malaysia

, ,

A friend once told me, “Their language is the same as ours. Their culture is similar too. Why do you still need to adapt?” Ooooh, yes! I still need to adapt and I’m struggling with it. Culture shock is inevitable, even for a person like me who have lived in 6 different countries across 3 continents. Living in a new country is like starting your life all over again from scratch. Finding new friends. Getting acquainted with a new culture.Read more

The Feeling of Losing A Loved One

, ,

Death. The word you won’t understand until you have a person you love breathing for the last time in front of your eyes. I never witnessed death in my whole life. I never understood the feeling of losing loved ones. I had no idea how it felt. I never experienced it. Having to live abroad for most of my life, I don’t get the luxury of being close to my extended family and relatives. We seldom see each other, perhapsRead more

The Letter of Sarcasm

, , ,

Dear People, Would you please stop asking me when I will get married. Please?! I still can’t comprehend why people ask me this question over and over again. Will it make any difference if I get married? Will it affect you in any way, directly or indirectly? Will you get ANY benefits from it? NO, right?! What makes it even worst is that, when some people ask me whether or not I have a boyfriend (and I say no, forRead more

The Snow that Brought Chaos

, ,

* This post is quite outdated, actually. It happened in the mid of December 09. I should have written it a long time ago, but I didn’t have much time as I was having vacation with my family back in Saudi Arabia 🙂 . It was on Friday, 18 December 2009. I felt so relief that it was my last day of university before the winter break. I was so busy that day, preparing for the end-of-year gathering with myRead more

Beginning of the 2nd Year

, ,

Resuming to the university life after 2 months of great holidays has been so hard. Yes, it's been almost a month since the semester had started, but the so called "holiday mode" has been the cause of my laziness and unmotivated attitude for the past weeks. I dream for another travels — though I've traveled to 9 countries during the last holiday, it never felt enough. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the opportunities but the problem is that…Read more

Experiencing the Greatness of Life

, , ,

Time passes by so quickly and I can’t believe that I’ve lived in this country for 7 months. That means, I’ll go back home in 2 more months and I can’t wait for it! Despite the homesickness, I’ve been living my life to the max. And sometimes I’m worried that I probably have too much fun. But I never regret it; because I’ve learnt and experienced so many things on the way. I feel great about living here. It providesRead more

Living in the Netherlands

, , ,

I actually don’t really know this country that much. After all, I’ve only lived here for less than 4 months. And I haven’t been able to travel around the Netherlands (yes, I still haven’t been to Amsterdam. Who cares, seriously. LOL). I’ve only seen fake windmills not inside the country, but in Belgium. I haven’t seen any tulips around — either because I was too ignorant and didn’t pay attention to detail or because it’s just not here! But allRead more

Eindhoven: 3 Months

, ,

Can’t believe that it’s November already! November reminds me of exam weeks that we used to have at UQ. The month of farewells, where all my graduating friends were leaving for good. The month when I used to welcome summer season with not-so-wide arms. The month when I used to be so impatient to start my long 3 months break away from Australia. The month of family reunion. And finally, the Hajj! My dad starts to get crazily busy. NoRead more

2 Weeks in Eindhoven: Living Alone

, ,

It feels weird to live alone. It does. If I have a choice between living alone and living with somebody else, I would have chosen to live with somebody else. But I don’t have any choices, unfortunately. Don’t get me wrong, I am so grateful that I got this place. I live in a so-called Spacebox, located on campus and within few minutes reach to the city centre and train station. What more do I want? Some of my friendsRead more

My Journey to Eindhoven

, , ,

I left Jeddah for Amsterdam in the morning of 21 Aug, transited at Jordan’s Queen Alia International Airport for 3 hours, and finally arrived at Schiphol Airport at 4 pm. Alhamdulillah, the trip went so smoothly, apart from the fact that I didn’t have enough sleep. I only had 2 hours of sleep before I departed and not to mention that sleeping on the plane was much worst than sleeping on the floor… But other than that, it was ok.Read more

4 Months Hiatus & Updates on Saudi Arabia

,

Wow! This must have been my longest hiatus ever! In the past 4 months, I barely checked my blog, comments, and even my RSS feeds at Google Reader. I don’t know why writing in a blog seems unexciting anymore. Let’s make it clear: I’m too lazy. Too lazy to get my hand open the damn Notepad++ and start typing. Too lazy to get my brain working :P. Too lazy to construct and put together the words into a sentence. EveryRead more

Away

,

Hey! Finally, I have an access to internet again! Wohooo… 😛 For those of you who have no clue… I’m currently in New Zealand; travelling and having fun! I decided not to bring my laptop with me — yes, I’m trying to live without a computer for a while. Apologies for not writing any new posting! 😀 I was gonna write the continuation of my previous post before I left Australia for New Zealand, but then something really really badRead more
