Say Goodbye 2006

Posted by: amellie 1 year, 11 months ago

I have a week break from work starting on Monday. I have no idea what I am going to do for the next few days. Most of my friends went home for Christmas break. Southbank Cinema won’t be showing any new released movies until after Dec 26. I was thinking about taking a language course in January, but the schedule doesn’t suit mine — from 6pm to 9pm. I wish they offer an afternoon class. Well, I guess, I just have to finish reading my books and watch some DVDs.

A few days ago, I finally watched a Korean mini-series Full House. A close friend of mine, Ntie gave me the complete episodes in DVDs when I visited Indonesia about 6 months ago. I told her that I wouldn’t be interested in watching this type of movie. But she FORCED me to do it. I was gonna return the DVDs to her, but I knew it wasn’t the right thing to do. Six months passed by and I hadn’t watched them. Until suddenly she left me an offline YM message with a VERY BIG FONT, “****, full housenya blm ditonton ya?” Glek. I’m a very terrible friend :D. I told her the truth. She insisted that I watch the series and kept reminding me to do that for the next few weeks. So yeah, finally I gave it a try and watched it with my housemate Mayu (the subtitle turned out to be English). I don’t like Asian series. The stories are similar, predictable, childish, immature, and repetitive! Mayu warned me that once I watch it, it’d make me curious about the stories. Yes, it makes me curious hahaha. But I kept complaining and complaining that the story doesn’t make sense at all!! How can the main actress, Jie-Eun lose all her money + house very easily?? And plus, the story is quite repetitive and useless at some points, especially towards the end of the series. I have to say that the love rectangle (does it really exist???) is too childish for the 20-something years old people. But one thing I like about this series is the comedy part!! Particularly when the two main actors fight every single day! It makes me laugh… it’s quite stupid yet funny :P. Most of my guy friends like to tease me and pick on me! From this series, I learn many new insults for a revenge!!! LOL. Full House reminds me of my Korean friends, Sunny, Hae Won, and Se Mi. I barely see them now but I always remember the first Korean sentence they taught me was: anyong ha seo (dunno how it spells :P) which you always say when you meet somebody.

Anyway, 2006 is one of the best year I ever had. I tried to be more relaxed and forget all stressful things. It makes me feel so grateful! It seems that your life is always beautiful and smooth hahaha. I enjoyed everything I did this year. From doing my second unforgettable Hajj experience, working with my dad, going back to Indonesia, to volunteer work. Everything was fun. Many bad things happened which I mostly didn’t write them on my blog, from the ‘greatest’ fight of the century :P to the my housemate’s clothes thief… hehe.

The year 2007 is approaching. I have lots of things to do next year. They’re all already in my mind. My goal for next year is to graduate in December, Insya Allah. My mom and bro will hopefully attend my graduation day. I’m 100% sure that my dad will not be able to attend (again), because of Hajj. Meanwhile, my sister is going to study in Malaysia starting from this July. So I have to use money more wisely this time. Hopefully, no more ebay and paypal :D. 2007 would probably be my last year staying in Australia. I want to spend my time here very carefully from now on. My friends and I have been planning to visit New Zealand next year, before I leave Aussie. I just hope that we could make it… I want to see the green mountains and lakes… must be so beautiful. I would probably leave Aussie for Indonesia by January 2008 and get ready for the next challenge :). I’m still confuse how I’m going to get a reference/recommendation letter from my lecturers, since we’re not close to them at all! We hardly communicate! They don’t even know our names… Does anyone know how I should get it?? I have to get that letter for my Master degree application.

I received an email from Queensland Government a couple of weeks ago for a volunteer work on Australia Day (Independence Day). I really want to get involved, since I won’t have anything to do on that day (public holiday). But I’m still not sure… I feel like I haven’t done much for my country, why should I bother doing it for other people’s country??? :D Mayu was so surprised, “Does it really matter for you???” Hehehe. Don’t know. It just feels a bit weird, don’t you think?

Merry Christmas for those who celebrate it and Happy New Year!

    *sorry kepanjangan*

bintangjatuh: saya masih belom ngerti, gmn tu dosen mo menilai ttg saya.. sedangkan si dosen aja gak pernah ngobrol or deket sama saya… yang sering berinteraksi ama mahasiswa tu ya tutor.. dan tutor ini bukanlah seorang dosen.. mereka biasanya pelajar s2 atau doctor… Mereka lah yang memberi/menghitung nilai akhir mahasiswa, mengoreksi ujian, etc. Dosen gak punya role secara langsung thd mahasiswa kecuali mengajar :D.

agusset: hahaha. emang sih gak bisa dipukul rata, cuma yah sebagian besar yang saya dgr/liat seperti itu. org2 jepang en korea aja bilang kaya gt. yah saya emang punya selera yg aneh.. lebih suka comedy aja gt… krn lebih ‘real’ lol. i’m not an expert on movies/serials… and i’m quite picky on which movies i’d like to watch…. that’s why people try to force me to watch those serials :P
    bebek: met idul adha juga…

Dessy: I’m not sure yet!! :) Baru rencana. Tapi gw pengen pergi ke gunung2… dingin… sungai2 yang bersih… hijau..heheheh deket gak dari wellington?? hehehe. doain yah…
