Criticism on Indonesian Workers

I wrote an article titled Illegal Workers that was published in March this year. The article itself was about the bad side of Indonesian illegal workers from my point of view. I didn’t write anything good about them. But then, someone who identified himself as a Saudi made a comment about it (let’s just assume that the commentator was a he). I honestly open with any comments and criticisms about any posts that I wrote. But one thing I don’t like about him is the fact that he wrote bad things about my country without even realising that his country is as much bad as mine!!!

No! Not in that post! I wrote the term “employers” instead of “Saudi employers”. Can’t you see it?? Can’t you tell the difference?? But if you ask me whether Saudis rape Indonesian women or not, I’ll definitely answer YES! You want a proof??? Just come to the Indonesian Embassy in Jeddah and ask them where the shelter for runaway maids is. Talk with them. Hear their stories. You’ll see that many of the maids there were raped and abused by their employers!! You’re not convinced?? Well, let’s ask Mr. Google about this issue. I’m sure he got lots of information .

First of all, it’s not “indonisian”. It’s INDONESIAN. Second of all, let me ask you a question. Where did you get that figure from?? Prove it!!! I’m totally aware that MANY Indonesian maids are prostitute. Couldn’t you see that I blame them for being sex workers???? But hey.. don’t just randomly write some numbers there! You have no proof!!!

Again, READ my post carefully before you post some junk comments!! Of course they come to Saudi Arabia for money!! There are people whose purpose coming to the Kingdom is to get money so that they can feed their family back at home. And you guys destroy their plans and treat them as slaves!!! That’s why they escape from your houses and do whatever they can! They become sex workers because they’re desperate… they don’t know where to go. They have no money!!!! Moreover, I believe that there are plenty of people too who come to the Kingdom for prostitution. I have no doubt about that. But please open your eyes, don’t only look at one side of the problems!!!!

Did I say somewhere that they are angels??? Where??? Can you find anywhere in my posts that said we are the best nation in the whole world??? NO!! Again, if you read carefully, you’ll find that I CRITICISE my country too!!! Because I’m AWARE of what happens! It seems that you really have no idea of what’s going on in your country right now. Or maybe you just pretend that those bad things did not happen?? Don’t be hypocrite! READ NEWSPAPERS! Browse the internet! Read books!! If you’re lazy, perhaps the easiest thing to do is to talk to the Indian, Bangladeshi, and Sri Lankan people on the streets. They’ll tell you that their Saudi employers do not treat them well!!!

Ok, what happen if ALL of immigrant workers leave Saudi Arabia forever??? Can you actually live without us?? Who will clean your houses? Who will drive your wives to the malls? Who will sweep the streets? Who will collect the garbage? Tell me WHO will do those works??? I’m sure you won’t do it! Because you consider yourself as rich people who are not willing to do those lower-level jobs!! Just admit that you are soooo dependent on us!!

Of course. All of us. Including you! But you didn’t admit that! You never judge your country. You always think that you’re much HIGHER than us. And that’s a big mistake. Did you know that a lot of Saudi people come to Indonesia for SEX??? I kid you not! Come to Puncak in June – September and you’ll definitely see them with your eyes!!

Whoever you are, I think you need to widely open your eyes and look at the communities surround you. Perhaps, I can give you a mirror if you want? Oh, one more thing. Please read the post carefully before you write a comment. Your comments clearly show that you didn’t understand what I wrote!!!!
