random stuff

@ 11:35 am | 5 comments

This week is the last week of the second semester classes. I’ve been so busy doing assignments and projects. Very tiring. I went to the Uni on Tuesday night to do the Oracle assignment with my other team members. We had to finish it by Wed morning for the demonstration. Aaron and I did the forms and PL/SQL coding, Chris did the SQL-related stuff (triggers, sequences, etc), Jerry and Daniel did the Oracle reports. It was very tiring. I stayed there til 5 am!!! The guys met up on the previous day, but I couldn’t join them that time. They’re so exhausted. So I was kinda being a mom for a little while :P … to make sure they’re all alright. I even had to persuade Chris to go home and take a nap when I met him in the afternoon (He’s sooo hardworking!). I also brought some snacks for them hehehe. Aaron drove me home at 5am; I only got to sleep for about 3 hours coz I had to go back to Uni again for the demo at 9.30 am. After that I went to the INFS lecture and did (another) demo for my website project. It went very well, the lecturer said she likes the design hehehehehhe :D

My dad called me yesterday! I was so surprised when he told me that he’s in Jakarta (for a meeting)! hahaha… He didn’t tell anyone, not even my grandma, about his short visit. He said that he supposedly stay there for only one day! I was like, whaaaaaat?? Hahaha.. But I can understand. Ramadhan is the second busiest month for my dad, coz hundreds or even thousands of indonesian pilgrims visit Saudi Arabia in this Holy month. Surprisingly, he has never complain about it. He’s the strongest man I’ve known, he’s very tough. Sometimes he has to go to the airport three times in a day, go to Mecca every single day, and receives complains from the customers (who are the pilgrims itself). I’m lucky to have him as my father :) .

I only have 3 exams this semester (hooray!). My exams will be held on the 5th, 15th, and 18th of November. Then I’ll go back to Jeddah on the 19th (so fast, ey??). I haven’t prepared anything, I don’t feel like going home… :D I still want to enjoy my time here: cooking, doing grocery shopping, cleaning, and stuff like that hehe. I think I’ve spent my money more than what I expected *sigh*. I bought A LOT of foods lately (I think that’s the result of being so stressed w/ the assignments hahhaha). This month is the mango season, and it freaks me out coz the price doesn’t make any sense (if you compare it with the one in Indonesia :P ). They sell ONE mango for 3 bucks!!!!!! The hardest thing when I do grocery shopping is to avoid looking at those mangoes.. otherwise I’ll buy them! I love mango too much hehehe..

Eid ul-Fitr is coming very soon.. and it means that I’ll be studying during the end of Ramadhan. I’ll probably go to the mosque to perform Eid prayer with tante Dinah and oom Rudi. I haven’t called them for a month already!!! (Sorry…) I’m also planning to meet my fellow bloggers: mbak Ina who lives in Indoroopilly (we’re neighbours! hehe) and mbak Lydia who will visit Brisbane from the States to attend her sis’s wedding. If I have time, I also want to meet up with my former classmates in IES!!! (Loretta?? when r we going to meet?? we can have lunch or something.. KOREAN restaurant again hahaha :P or maybe chinese) I hope I could meet them before I go home.

i just want to comment about the mango stuff.
back there in my hometown, there’re 6 mango trees around our yard. every time the mangoes ripe, we could have a lot of buckets of mangoes. usually we ended up sharing those mangoes and giving them to our neighbors or relatives hehehehhehe… :-)
what type of mango do you like the most? manalagi, gedong, arumanis, golek??? you name it…

@saptomo: Dude, you never shared me those mango stuffs! Anyway, I also have a mango tree in the backyard. I think it’s pretty old and dying since it doesn’t produce fruit anymore.
